It’s that time of year again. The time of year that makes me wish I had a tiny tv in my cubicle to watch the NCAA Tourney. The time of year where I basically burn money and come in middle of the pack in some pools (play money of course. NCAA Pools are illegal). So, I joined a pool with a bunch of poker players. It might not be my smartest move, as I have a sneaking suspicion that a lot of these guys are heavy in the sports betting as well. Oh well, may Illinois turn it up to 11. For those interested, here is my bracket for rec.gambling.poker and my bracket against Harlin heads up. Good luck to all of you, unless you have Illinois losing.

We’re going to DC!
I’m not sure if anyone but the feed reeders even see this site anymore, since I’ve been worse than terrible about trying to do any updates lately. I’m thinking about shutting down shop….we’ll see.
Anyway, Rhya and I have almost notoriously been unable to celebrate our anniversary together. In fact, this will be the first year that we will be in the same state on our anniversary, so we thought we would try to go somewhere to celebrate. We were thinking of either Nashville or St. Louis, as we’ve got some fond memories of both of them.
However, we recently got invited to a wedding for one of Rhya’s long-time friends, Eddie Wlazlowski, who was an usher in our wedding. He and his fiance are getting married in Washington DC at the end of May (20th), and since we were already planning to go out there for it, we decided to extend our stay to a long weekend (flying out friday and heading home monday) to celebrate our anniversary. We are going to stay downtown in a small Irish hotel, which is about 1/2 mile from the capitol building. Rhya has never been to DC, and I haven’t been there since high school, so we’re both pretty excited. We are thinking about taking the Monuments by Moonlight tour on friday night, and then following up at any monuments that we really want to see on Saturday. The wedding is on Sunday, about 45 minutes west of Washington DC at the Heritage Hunt Country Club. Since it is on Sunday, we will have Saturday night to go out and celebrate, so we will probably go to the Melting Pot, which is an upscale chain of fondue restaurants (we went to the one in Nashville).
If anyone has any suggestions about places we should go, let us know!
