Our very good friends Charlie and Amber welcomed their second boy into their family on January 25th. We took Lindy over to see them all on Thursday night, and I think they are going to be great friends!

Welcome Angus Lennon Rusk! He was 8lbs. 11oz. and 20in.

When Lindy is sleeping and then gets disturbed (dog barking, light coming on, getting moved, etc.), she immediately raises one hand in front of her face in a “Stop it. I’m serious.” pose.

And I try to comply.

No, Lindy isn’t hooked on the smelly markers. This is Gentian Violet, a cure for a yeast infection caused by the c-section antibiotics. Rhya had to paint herself then breastfeed.

But, I’m happy to say the bad stuff has passed for the most part, and this picture is about a week old. She’s back to a normal color!

It certainly wasn’t the prettiest of games. We watched the Nittany Lions lose their starting halfback, fullback, and one of the best defensive players in the nation at linebacker. Then, to add insult to injury, we saw PSU run the same inside give to the backup halfback with minimal success, and enough missed field goals to make Jay Feely look like Morten Andersen.

However, there were a couple really bright spots. Tamba Hali looked really tough, Zematis got a pick, and PSU extended their 2 minute drill success (7 scores in 8 attempts) by scoring a touchdown in 2 plays (11 seconds) before halftime.

Overall, you can’t beat a triple overtime win in the Orange Bowl to go 11-1 on the year.

Except if maybe my DVR wouldn’t have cut off the end of the game…or if PSU had won in triple overtime in the Rose Bowl.

Regardless, it was an exciting game even if it was frustrating, and I think Lindy is beginning to love College FB more than the NFL. She is impressed with the option play, and is saddened that the linebacker speed in the NFL has procluded the use of the option in that league. She told me that. She tells me a lot of stuff.

Yarrrrrrr!

Our baby is a pirate. She doesn’t open her eyes much during the day (maybe 20 min throughout the whole day), but when she does, she really likes to pick one eye and use it to its fullest potential. It’s like there are so many new things to look at, she’s trying to limit the flow of information into her brain to keep it at a more manageable pace.

Lindy and her proud father

Originally uploaded by mildog.

We welcomed little Lindy Paige Miller into our family at 10:02pm on December 28th, 2005. She was 8 lbs. 9 oz. and 19 1/2 in. tall. Rhya had to undergo a cesarean section after about 13 1/2 hours of labor, but both she and her new daughter are recovering at home.

We couldn’t be more excited and proud! You can see some pictures of the experience here.
